Free Guided walk on 24th August, Guizikeng Trail of Taipei Grand Trail Section 1
Supervised by the Geotechnical Engineering Office and organized by the Taiwan Nature Trail Society, the forth guided tour conducted in English this year brings you to Guizikeng in Beitou. Residents and visitors are both welcome to join us. On 24th August, we will lead to Guizikeng Trail which belongs to Section 1 of Taipei Grand Trail. The tour will last about 2.5 hours (interpretation included). Traffic information: Bus 216, 218, 233, 602, Chengde Metro Bus to Guizikeng Soil and Water Conservation Park About Guizikeng Trail: Guizikeng is located on the south-west part of Mt. Datun and is famed for its geological landscapes. There used to be a ceramic material mine in Guizikeng. Soil erosion was serious due to the overexploitation. Efforts have been made by the government since 1980’s to improve water and soil conservation. The education park has been established in 1994. Taipei Grand Trail is a 92-kilometer long-distance urban hiking trail in Taipei and Guizikeng Trail is one of the trails in section 1. About Us: Taiwan Nature Trail Society The TNTS is a volunteer’s organization composed of volunteers who love to share how wonderful nature and hiking is. Taiwan Nature Trail Society has organized many kinds of activities, including trail tours and environmental education events. One of those trail tours, a 300-people guided nature walk, is commissioned by the Geotechnical Engineering Office, Public Works Department, Taipei City Government. We offer bilingual guided services during the tours. Therefore, we would like to invite people who are interested in exploring the great outdoors events to experience the rich ecosystem surrounding Taipei!
