Free Guided Walking Tour on June 29th, Xianjiyan Trail
Join us on a free guided walk tour on June 29th at the Xianjiyan Trail, supervised by the Geotechnical Engineering Office and organized by the Taiwan Nature Trail Society. Four guided tours will be offered in English this year. These tours have been very popular with both residents and visitors in the past. On June 29th, we will take you on a tour of the Xianjiyan Trail. The tour, covering approximately 2.5 km, will last about 2.5 hours (English interpretation included). Xianjiyan, located on the south side of Nangangshan in the Wenshan District of Taipei, stands at 144 meters and offers great views of the Taipei Basin. It is one of the best spots to observe the rich ecology of animals, plants, and ferns along the trail. Xianjiyan(仙跡岩) Trail ⮚ Saturday, June 29// 8:30 - 11:00 AM ⮚ Gather at Jingxing Park near Exit 2 of Jingmei MRT Station, at 8:30AM sharp ⮚ Disband at Trailhead on lane 243, Jungxing Rd. ⮚ Traffic information: MRT Green Line (Songshan-Xindian Line) and get off at (G05) Jingmei Station About Xianjiyan Trail: According to legend, Lu Dongbin, one of the Eight Immortals, left his footprints on the top of a large rock here. The name "Xianjiyan" combines "Xianji," meaning "Footprints of the Fairy," and "yan," meaning rocks. Visitors frequently see squirrels leaping and butterflies fluttering in the forest on both sides of the trail. This area is an excellent spot for urban dwellers to enjoy holidays and relaxation, as well as to savor the Taipei snacks available at the nearby Jingmei Night Market. About Us: Taiwan Nature Trail Society The TNTS is a volunteer organization comprised of individuals passionate about sharing the wonders of nature and hiking. The Taiwan Nature Trail Society organizes various activities, including trail tours and environmental education events. One of these tours, a guided nature walk for 300 people, is commissioned by the Geotechnical Engineering Office, Public Works Department, Taipei City Government.
